In 1975 Fr David moved as team vicar to Swindon where he and Megan built a new church which was dedicated to St Timothy ( a companion of St Paul, to whom the other church was dedicated, and whose feast day is 26th January.) From 1979 to1989 Fr David and Megan were at Alveston, outside Bristol, where Fr David became Rural Dean in 1987.1989 saw them in Yate New Town, a parish of 30,000 with 12 schools and a team of four.
Fr David was appointed Rural Dean again in 1997.
In 1999 they moved to Stroud in the Gloucester Diocese, where Fr David was again appointed Area Dean in 2004.
On his retirement from the Territorial Army in 2003 Fr David was appointed Honorary Colonel of the North Somerset Yeomanry Squadron.
It was during his time in the TA that he came across Ray Jones and started locum work at St Andrew’s.
Fr David’s wife, Megan had trained and worked as a Nanny.  However, in 1990 Megan decided to train as a pediatric nurse and worked on the burns and reconstructive surgery ward in Frenchay, Bristol. Unfortunately Megan had to retire after unsuccessful spinal surgery. They have three sons born in the 1970s, now all married.
Peter and Nic are the proud parents of Victoria and Matthew, Jonathan and Deb have three children, Anthony, Isabelle and Edward(born January 2010).
Dan and Sarah were married on a beach in South Africa, and now live in Bristol.
Fr David was installed as Chaplain at St Andrew’s Fuengirola on 25th January 2007.
In 2008 Fr David became The Venerable Christopher David Sutch when he was appointed as the new Archdeacon of Gibraltar.
On the 13th July 2008 Fr David was installed as a Canon of Gibraltar Cathedral.
